Most of the day Thursday will be dry, but all of central North Carolina will have a chance to see rain before we officially make it to the weekend.

Low pressure moving across the southeastern United States will bring scattered showers and a few thunderstorms to our area late Thursday night through early Friday morning. A few spotty showers cannot be ruled out Thursday afternoon, but the highest chance to see rain may come well after sunset.

The threat for any severe storms appears low late Thursday night, but a few storms could produce strong wind gusts.

Because of the scattered nature of the rain, rainfall totals will vary greatly overnight. Some neighborhoods will see brief downpours while other locations see very little rain.

A few showers may linger just after daybreak Friday but should come to an end by mid-morning. Spotty showers could then redevelop Friday afternoon.

Friday will be the last chance to see rain for a while. Dry weather is expected from this weekend through next week.
