Remember classic Broadway?

Tampa's Ann Hodges does.

As a veteran of theater and television, the former Showboat Dinner Theater performer spent decades in the entertainment industry.

Now she's a popular yoga instructor, teaching at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. Not that she has slowed down at all.

Hodges appeared in all the big productions: Hello Dolly, Mame, Chicago and Sugar Babies to name a few.

She also appeared on the Steve Allen Show, Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason in the early days of television.

"He was a perfect gentlemen," Hodges remembers of Gleason, who she said she briefly dated. "He sent me three dozen yellow roses after every show."

Hodges, who has practiced yoga for 25 years, also teaches yoga on Harbor Island in Tampa.

"The wonderful thing about teaching yoga, you meet such special people," Hodges said. "And they mean so much in my life. It keeps me going.

"It has been a rich life I've lead. I've met so many wonderful people and many wonderful stars I've worked with. That's energy rubs off and you pick up all that."
