RALEIGH, N.C. -- One person was killed and another injured after a wreck in north Raleigh.          

It happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday on Wakefield Plantation Drive at Towngate Drive.

Officers say a passenger, 20-year-old Zachery Riggle, died and the 21-year-old driver, Samuel Beadle, was last listed in serious condition at WakeMed.

Police say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road, struck a tree and fire hydrant and then landed on its roof.
