ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. -- The wife of a man involved in an officer-involved shooting in Rockingham County Monday is now charged in the fallout of the investigation.

Saturday, deputies arrested Rebekah Daniels on charges of misdemeanor child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A deputy showed up to her home on Nell Road Monday afternoon after a 911 hang-up call and says he was speaking to Mrs. Daniels when her husband, Scott Daniels, came to the door and pointed gun at the deputy.

The deputy shot Mr. Daniels then called paramedics who rushed him to the hospital.

The sheriff's office took custody of him after treatment.

Authorities say child protective services is involved with the investigation.
