More beautiful spring weather is in the forecast but not without some issues we need to watch.

Wednesday’s warm weather arrived with gusty winds. We saw wind gusts up to 25mph along with low humidity creating an increased fire danger in much of the state. If a fire were to break out, it could spread rapidly.

The increased fire danger will continue into Thursday. A cold front passing through the state in the morning will reinforce the dry air in the region and cause wind gusts up to 30 or 35mph.

The North Carolina Forest Service and the National Weather Service strongly discourage outdoor burning in these types of conditions.
