Yesterday's high in Raleigh only made it to 57. That's a good bit cooler than the average high of 71 for this time of year. We should be slightly warmer Tuesday afternoon but still below average with highs in the low 60s across central North Carolina.

Wednesday likely will not be much warmer. After morning lows in the upper 30s to near 40, temperatures will return to the low and mid 60s in the afternoon.

Warmer air will arrive in the state Thursday afternoon as temperatures soar into the mid 70s. Highs around 80 are forecast for Friday and Saturday.

A few morning sprinkles are possible Tuesday. Otherwise, the rest of this week will be dry. We'll see partly sunny skies Tuesday and mostly sunny conditions Wednesday through Friday.

Our next chance for rain will come late Sunday when strong storms will be possible.
