A Staten Island woman alleges political bias at her local post office and now Congressman Dan Donovan unveils a bill to prevent that from happening in the future.

On Thursday Congressman Donovan announced his plans to introduce legislation to reverse the U.S. Postal Service regulation prohibiting photographs of the President and Vice President from hanging in post offices.

Donovan's office says a local constituent and Trump supporter brought the issue to the congressman's attention. Monica Paquette complained that pictures of former President Obama and Vice President Biden were on display during their administration at her local post office in St. George, but pictures of Trump and Pence are not on display now.

"I thought that it was kind of odd that the portrait was not there since Bush, George Bush's portrait was there and Barack Obama's portrait was there. I thought it was strange that Donald Trump's portrait was not and so I was curious to know what changed what happened," said Paquette.

Donovan’s bill will require the Postal Service to display the official portrait of the current President and Vice President in all post offices.
