FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The rainy and chilly weather Sunday morning wasn't so great to stand out in, but if you were one of the more than 3,600 runners competing in the 5th annual All American Marathon, those cold temperatures probably felt pretty good while running down the streets.

The banging of a howitzer started the race right at 7 a.m. Runners filled the downtown area before heading toward the finish line at Fort Bragg. Along the way, runners passed a special section of the course called The Blue Mile which was filled with pictures of service members who were killed in the line of duty. Hundreds of race fans waved American flags.

From there, everyone headed to the Main Post Parade Field at Fort Bragg to complete the race. In spite of the cold weather, things went really smooth for the event, organizers tell us.

A British soldier, who is at Fort Bragg for training, won the event and crossed the finish line at the post in a little over 2 and half hours.
