After several days of clouds, we finally broke into sunshine on Thursday.

As low pressure moved off the Carolina coast, high pressure built into the state.

This area of high pressure will control our weather through the night and into Friday.

For tonight, well see mostly clear skies with cold overnight lows.  On Friday, skies will be mostly sunny but daytime highs will remain below average for the later half of March.

Clouds will increase on Saturday with showers expected to develop by Saturday afternoon.  From the Triangle north, we may see a wintry mix develop Saturday night into Sunday morning.  The best chance to see a light accumulation will be along and north of I-85.  We are thinking that this will be another minor winter weather event for the area.

The precipitation should switch back to all rain by late Sunday morning.  We will continue to monitor and update the forecast as we approach the weekend.
