CUMBERLAND COUNTY -- The Adult Health Clinic at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health is now operating five days a week, after several months of only providing part-time care.

But now, some patients say they're being told no appointments are available until May.

"I don't carry strong enough insurance to go to a major provider or network," says patient, Tonia McGill.

The clinic was able to reopen with extended hours through a partnership with Stedman-Wade Health Services last week. CEO Margaret Covington says the longer wait times should only be temporary.

"Really, four weeks is not bad at all, and given the circumstances of what's going on at the center, the new provider is there, and she has to learn two systems," said Covington. "She has to learn their medical records and our medical records, and each patient that she sees is new, so it takes time."

If appointments keep booking up, Covington says the clinic will hire another provider.
