After a beautiful weather day on Tuesday, clouds will return to the area by Wednesday and by late Wednesday, we'll develop a chance for showers.

The high pressure which gave us lots of sunshine on Tuesday along with near normal daytime highs, will shift off the coast through the night and into Wednesday. As the high moves away, clouds will move back into the area. Clouds will slowly increase tonight and by early Wednesday morning, we can expect partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies.

Most of Wednesday should be rain free. However, by mid to late Wednesday afternoon, the showers will move into the area. The chance of showers will increase into Wednesday night and Thursday. Showers will end by Thursday night.

High pressure will build back into North Carolina for Friday and the weekend.
