FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Tamela Nasim wore pink on Saturday as a symbol for her toughness and endurance. It also gives her a chance to tell everybody how blessed she is to be a breast cancer survivor.

On Saturday, Fayetteville State University held its annual Ball in Pink event during the women's basketball game between the Lady Broncos and Winston-Salem State. The University has held this event for the last 9 years to bring an awareness to breast cancer.

Fans were asked to wear pink and donations were also taken to help in the fight against the disease. Breast cancer survivors were honored and celebrated during the game for their tough fight.
