Friday’s record warm temperatures will give way to a much cooler day on Saturday. Gusty southwest winds in advance of a cold front made for a balmy Friday. Showers towards evening with the passage of the front will switch winds to a northerly direction and cool us down Friday night and Saturday.

After highs in the 70s to low 80s Friday, Saturday afternoon temperatures will not get out of the 40s across most of central North Carolina. Look for clouds skies and a northeast breeze as we get into the weekend, by midday Saturday rain will develop across the region and be with us into Saturday night.

Sunday will bring us a return to sunshine and warmer conditions as we head to an afternoon high in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Chance of rain Monday, then back in the 70s through mid-week.
