Nice Friday weather is unfolding around the region with sunshine and highs in the 50s. At the same time, our next cold front is moving through the Plains states, and moisture is building down in the Gulf of Mexico.

That incoming cold front will pull that deep tropical moisture from the Gulf up our way starting tonight. Clouds will roll in tonight, and some showers are possible after midnight.

We will then be set up for a wet three day stretch Saturday through Monday. It will not rain all day each day, but there will likely be waves of rain from time to time.

Rain amounts will be heaviest the farther west you go in the Carolinas. Along and to the west of the I-77 corridor, some places could exceed 2" of rain through Monday with almost anybody in the region fair game to pick up 1" before all is said and done.

Later next week, a warmer stretch of weather will settle in with some 70s possible for highs by Thursday and Friday.
