CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. -- Human remains found in New Hanover County have been identified as belonging to a man who was missing for over five years.

The remains of John Calvin Pensyl of Carolina Beach were discovered in November behind Walmart in the Monkey Junction area.

Pensyl was 20 years old when he was reported missing to the Wilmington Police Department in May 2012.

He was last seen when his father dropped him off at a bus stop on South College Road.

Pensyl suffered from schizophrenia, a WPD spokesperson said.

No foul play is suspected.
