A strong cold front has moved off shore and in its wake temperatures drop.

High temperatures for Tuesday were pretty much where they should be for this time of the year; ranging from the low 50s near the Virginia border to upper 50s across the Sandhills. There will be a big change today with afternoon highs only in the low to mid 40s.

You can expect a little a warm up as we head into Thursday with temperatures back to where they should be. A little cooler for Friday then another warm up as we head into the weekend. In fact, by Sunday, we will see highs in the low to mid 60s across central North Carolina.

Clouds on the increase Sunday as the next system nears that will bring a decent chance of rain for Monday.
