The first winter storm of the season and come and gone, leaving parts of North Carolina with a blanket of snow.  Eastern North Carolina saw only wet conditions but it was much needed rainfall for the area.

Through the night, skies will clear and temperatures will drop into early Sunday morning.

Sunshine returns to the forecast on Sunday but it returns with chilly temperatures and breezy conditions.  Even with full sunshine, daytime highs will be well below average for early December.  After a cold start to Monday, we should see slightly milder highs for Monday and Tuesday before another surge of cold air drops temperatures by mid-week.
