A cold front is rapidly approaching from the west. Ahead of the front, we will squeeze in a fairly mild Tuesday with highs in the 60s under a mostly cloudy sky.

A healthy band of rain is accompanying the front, and anywhere from late this afternoon through tonight, that band of rain will work through the Carolinas. Rain totals will likely be between 0.25" and 0.75" for most of the area.

We will be behind the front tomorrow, but the front will be slow to clear the region. Therefore, look for lots of clouds, chillier temperatures, and even the chance of a little lingering rain, mainly in the southern part of the area.

Thursday looks chilly and dry, and then we await the next wave pf precipitation Thursday night into Friday. It is possible that precipitation will get thrown far enough northwest into the colder air to make for the potential for a little snow in parts of the region.

At this point, this looks to be very minor with accumulation potential limited by fairly light precipitation rates and warm initial ground temperatures.

Lots of cold air will continue to feed into the region. In fact, in spite of lots of sun, highs will struggle to make it to 40 or so over the weekend.
