Hopefully you enjoyed the warm weather on Tuesday, because much cooler air is on the way as a strong cold front makes its way across North Carolina.

This cold front will pass through the state during the night and into early Wednesday. With it, we'll see clouds and rain.

With the front off the coast by Wednesday, lingering showers and sprinkles will be possible during the day. Afternoon highs will be about 15 to 20 degrees cooler on Wednesday, than we saw on Tuesday.

Another wave of moisture will move up across the Carolinas on Thursday.

Most of this rain will impact eastern North Carolina.

A wave of low pressure is expected to develop off the coast on Friday.

That means more rain chances for Friday.

There is a chance that some wet snow will mix with the rain but at this time, no impacts are expected due to wintry weather.

Dry weather is in the forecast for the weekend along with colder temperatures.
