RAMSEUR -- The Ramseur police chief now says he believes more than one person was involved in the town's second homicide, Monday.

One man died and his 8-year old son was injured in the attacked. The chief also believes based on a piece of evidence they have it could lead to the suspects.

The murder incident shocked a small town in Randolph County. 

"We have one piece of forensic evidence. That's all I'm going to comment on," said Chief Larry Lewallen. “That hopefully will give us a big jump on the case. It's going to be checked and tested."

The department is working with the State Bureau of Investigation on locating the suspects.
