CHARLOTTE -- Families gathered at Charlotte's Freedom Park for a few photos that will help a non-profit continue its mission.

"Flashes of Hope" offers free, uplifting photography of children dealing with cancer of life-threatening illnesses.

One session purchased during Sunday's fundraiser equals six sessions at the hospital.

"All these children have had health challenges," said photographer Jonathan Aguallo. "To see that moment of joy on not only the children but the parents, you can't put a price on that moment. Seeing them be joyful when you know there are times of despair."

Their next patient session will take place Thursday, November 2 at Levine Children's Hospital.
