DURHAM -- Four candidates for Durham public office discussed city issues at a forum Saturday morning.

The dialogue with mayoral candidate Steve Schewel and city council candidates John Rooks, Vernetta Alston and Dedreana Freeman mainly focused on Durham's law enforcement.

The candidates all say some type of reform is needed.

"We need to hire the best, we need to pay them well, we need to train them well, we need to support them well, and then we need to hold them strictly accountable," said Schewel.

Election Day in Durham is November 7.
