RALEIGH -- One sticker at the North Carolina State Fair has raised eyebrows among some fairgoers this year.

The North Carolina Sons of Confederate Veterans has been handing out stickers from a booth in the fair's Educational Building.

For some, they say the flag on the stickers means heritage, but others say the stickers represent hate.

Department of Agriculture spokesperson Brian Long says stickers are a subject that fair officials will address.

"Regardless of who's giving stickers out, the stickers end up stuck on the ground, they end up stuck on windows and doors, on windows, on trash cans, and so from a shear maintenance and clean up standpoint they can pose quite a problem,” said Brian Long, spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture.

Long confirms some fairgoers have complained especially about the Confederate stickers.

Meanwhile, leaders with the sons of Confederate veterans say they've rent space at the fair annually - and have handed out the stickers for more than three decades.

The State Fair wraps up Sunday.
