Scattered showers along a cold front produced 0.25" of rain in Raleigh Monday.  That should be the only measurable rain for this year's North Carolina State Fair.   The fair started this past Thursday and will run through this coming weekend.

Cooler and drier air has moved in behind Monday's cold front making for pleasant weather conditions Tuesday and for the rest of this week.  Sunshine all day will only warm highs in the mid 60s Tuesday afternoon.

If you have plans to be at the fair Tuesday evening, you may need a light jacket.  Temperatures will likely be in the upper 40s by 10 p.m.

Lows will then drop to near 40 by early Wednesday morning.  A few outlying areas north and west of Raleigh could even wake up to the upper 30s Wednesday morning.

Sunshine every day for the rest of this week will allow for a gradual warming trend through Friday.  Highs in the upper 70s to near 80 are expected by Friday and the weekend.

Our next chance for rain will come with the next cold front forecast to move through North Carolina around Monday and Tuesday of next week.
