Jose was once a major hurricane with winds reaching 155mph...  Now its a weaker system but it still could have some affects on the east coast of the United States.  Jose had drifted off the southeast coast for the past few days.  The storm is forecast to linger near the Bahamas through Thursday.

By the end of the week, the system is expected to turn north and move between Cape Hatteras and Bermuda.  Computer models are in good agreement on the path of the storm.  Most keep Jose away from North Carolina.  Though we'll see no direct impacts to our weather due to Jose, we will probably see some indirect impacts.

With the storm off the coast, there is a chance for higher surf conditions and an increased risk for rip currents.  We'll see this through the weekend and possibly into early next week.
