CARRBORO, N.C. -- Carrboro town leaders are offering financial help to young, undocumented immigrants.

The Board of Aldermen passed a resolution Tuesday night to assist DACA recipients.

The Trump administration threatened to end the program that allows children to avoid deportation.

Carrboro will help pay DACA recipients to renew permits plus pay legal fees.

"The message is that we have a lot of neighbors who are being put in a very vulnerable position now. I think it's all of our reasonability to support each other and support our neighbors who are in need," said Damon Seils.

Town officials say they haven't determined an exact amount of money but expect to have the answer next week.
