The remnants of Irma continue to bring clouds and rain to parts of the Ohio River Valley, but its influence on weather across the Tar Heel State diminishes.

Locally heavy rainfall Tuesday dropped one to three inches of rain across the region.

We see a nice chance to dry out as we finish the work week and head into the weekend.

There is a slight chance for a stray shower or thunderstorms across the region late tonight into Thursday, but few will see any and amounts will be light.

Ample sunshine and warmer temperatures will be with us for Friday and the weekend.

Jose continues to wobble around out in the Atlantic.  Model consensus is pretty good on the storm looping around and eventually heading north, then northeast well off the coast of the Carolinas.

The only impact expected is rough surf and high rip current risk.
