NATIONWIDE -- The Harris Poll has recently released its 2017 EquiTrend rankings for best Brands of the Year.
The poll service examined hundreds of companies in categories from airlines to restaurants to hotels, retail and media.
When it comes to restaurants, there were a few changes from last year's results.
Five Guys Burger and Fries took the top spot in the burger restaurant category this year, knocking down In-N-Out Burger, 2015 and 2016’s top brand, to second place.
For the pizza restaurant category, Papa John’s is the new top dog, knocking 2015 and 2016’s top brand, Pizza Hut, to third place.
Casual dining restaurant brand of the year is The Cheesecake Factory, with 2016’s top brand, IHOP, now in seventh place, and 2015's top brand, Outback Steakhouse, in fourth place.
Restaurant brands that took first place for 2015, 2016 and 2017 include Subway (top sandwich shop) and Chick-Fil-A (top chicken restaurant brand). Moe’s Southwest Grill was number one again this year for fast casual Mexican restaurant brand, with Chipotle entirely off the list for a second year in a row after being number one in 2015.
