CHAPEL HILL -- An Orange County wedding venue may not be able to open.
The county board of adjustment recently ruled that The Barn at Chapel Hill, which is still under construction, is a farm and can't host weddings.
The barn's owners say they've already booked 17 weddings and haven't decided if they're going to appeal the board's decision.
"We've told the brides everything that's going on, and they've been so wonderful. Obviously, it's the biggest day of their lives and they're more concerned about us, our farm and our family than their wedding," said Kara Brewer, co-owner of The Barn at Chapel Hill.
Some nearby neighbors have complained that the venue will bring noise and traffic to the area.
