RALEIGH -- UNC President Margaret Spellings spent Wednesday touring NC State University.

She first made a stop at the CAMAL Lab where she learned about cutting edge research and machines that create replacement knees and legs for pet surgeries.

“I had the chance to meet with some great students and several women scientists who are talking about future careers in academia and industry. I saw a machine that is the first in the world of its kind in 3-D printing, and the applications are tremendous,” said Spellings.

NC State is also taking the lead in its advancements in 3-D printing and wearable electronics that monitor your health as you wear them.
