DURHAM -- Fullsteam Brewery in Durham is celebrating the history of soul food, with recipes straight from the book of award-winning author and soul food expert, Adrian Miller.
Miller traveled to 150 soul food restaurants in 35 different cities to compile the best food to feature in his book.
Some of these dishes, like corn flake fried chicken and cheddar waffles, were served to those who attended the event.
"Soul food is rally a fusion cuisine. It's a mix of West Africa, Western Europe, and also the indegenous people who were already here. So it's all of their food coming together on this side of the Atlantic,” said Adrian Miller, author of Soul Food.
All the profits from yesterday's event go to Seeds NC, an organization that focuses on sustainable agriculture and organic gardening.
