FAYETTEVILLE -- The City of Fayetteville has handed out about 7,500 tickets since the red light cameras were installed.

The first cameras went online last summer, and now there is an extra set of eyes at nearly a dozen intersections throughout the city.

Officials say the cameras could help decrease traffic accidents, as well as slow down red light runners.
