RALEIGH- It's only rock 'n' roll, but the fans seemed to like it. Legendary rock group The Rolling Stones stopped in Raleigh Wednesday night on their Zip Code tour. It was their first visit to Carter-Finley Stadium since 1994. Their last visit to the Triangle was in 2005.

An estimated 40,000 fans from across North Carolina packed in to the stadium to see the performance.

"I've got a ton of favorites. Different songs connect with me for different reasons, but they have been with me through my whole life so I've got something for different experiences and come a long way, but they've just been my diehard," said fan Wendy Thompson.

"More power to them to be 70 and doing what we need them to do. Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Charlie they all do their own thing and they are still doing it," said fan Joey Pierce.

Tickets sold for anywhere between $70 and more than $350.

Most fans said no matter where there seats were, they were still got some satisfaction.

The Rolling Stones will make their next stop in Indianapolis on Saturday.
