DURHAM, N.C. - "Fresh seafood and quality served at the highest level of excellence."

That’s the motto of the Saltbox Seafood Joint in Durham.

The restaurant established in 2012 by Chef Ricky Moore received so much recognition it had to open up another location last year.

Chef Moore is from New Bern and grew up eating fish from North Carolina’s coast.

Now he’s sharing that experience with the Bull City with two locations in Durham.

The menu offers a wide variety of fish freshly caught by North Carolina fishermen.

"If it weren't for North Carolina fishermen, Saltbox would not be.  I believe I've helped people open themselves up to eating some different styles of seafood aside from what they're used to eating or what they prefer to eat,” said Ricky Moore, chef and owner of Saltbox Seafood Joint.

You can order a plate with spice grilled or fried fish served with slaw salad & crispy seasoned potatoes.

Another menu option includes the popular ‘the saltbox sandwich’ roll topped with slaw salad.
