CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- They don’t make home cooking like Cuzzo’s Cuisine! Andarrio Johnson is less a chef, and more a chemist.

"Being a chef is almost like being a scientist. You're just playing around with ingredients and come up with a formula," said Johnson.

Johnson’s formula at Cuzzo’s Cuisine? Mixing comfort food with high-end ingredients, like his red velvet waffles, cucumber-melon pink lemonade, or the Cuzzo’s Cuisine specialty: lobster mac and cheese. It has three cheeses, spread through a penne pasta, with chunks of lobster evenly mixed in. It looks like a side dish, but will fill you up quick.

If you’re looking for a Southern classic, order the shrimp and grits. "No extra stuff in it,” Johnson said. “So we just keep it simple and good.”

Cuzzo’s Cuisine feels like home, but offers much more than home cooking.

Like all good Southern cooking, the food is served with some Southern hospitality. "We’re everyone’s family. We treat everyone like family. There's so much love. It’s a lot of love and I’m showing the love back through my food” said Johnson.
