CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Simple and savory southern soul-food --  that’s how Zada Jane’s Corner Café in Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood neighborhood describes its food.

“We got to give the people what they want. We got to give them breakfast," said manager Courtney Varnum.

You can’t miss the 11-year-old hot spot if you drive on Central Avenue.  The customers come from near and far to try its breakfast, which is served all day long.

Zada Jane’s specializes in two items, the Booker T and the Bunny Rancheros.

“It's our version of Huevos Rancheros,” said Varnum. “It’s black beans, your choice of meat, potatoes, pepper-jack cheese queso and then over-easy eggs with our house-made guacamole and sour cream. It’s pretty amazing.”

Unless you don’t mind waiting, they suggest coming during the week.

“Weekends we are packed out,” said Varnum.

Zada Jane’s has an outdoor patio for those who love to watch the cars go by.  One thing you won’t see is a TV.

“We don’t have TVs here. Brunch is about enjoying the company of other people,” said Varnum.
