Rusty’s Deli and Grille serves up a taste of the past.

“I’ve had people that have been eating with me in the beginning and move away to another city and come back 20 years later and say, ‘Oh my God, it’s the exact way it was, and we’re so glad,’” owner Peter Estes said.

Customers have been enjoying the same burgers, sandwiches and homemade chicken salad for more than three decades. He says his chicken salad recipe hasn’t changed since the restaurant first opened.

It’s the kind of consistency you get when the same family has run the restaurant since November 1983.

 “A lot of the fun customers tell us that the people that work here are great. I have to agree with them on that one,” night manager Peter Acker-Estes said.

It’s a place where the food makes strangers feel at home. In a city full of constant change, Rusty’s Deli and Grille is the constant.
