It’s just been announced that the Concacaf Gold Cup will be held in the Queen City in the summer of 2019. The city is one of the 15 venues across 13 cities that will welcome the 2019 edition of the games. Charlotte officials are glad the event is back in the city.

“We’re excited to welcome the Concacaf Gold Cup back to the Bank of America Stadium and Charlotte for the third time,” CRVA Tom Murray said during a press conference. “International soccer matches like the Gold Cup create additional visitor spending that is important to our overall visitor economy, and  strategic events like this generate invaluable national and international media exposure opportunities for the city.”

The Gold Cup is held every two years and is the region’s national football (soccer) championship with players from North and Central America. It will be played at the Bank of America Stadium.
