The Triad's first food hall is set to be built right beyond the outfield of the High Point Rockers.
Cana Development out of Maryland is leading the project, and local officials say they're the largest operator of food halls in the country.
The food hall will move into the first floor of the future three-story building on North Elm Street, and there will be enough space for about eight to 10 vendors.
Leaders of Forward High Point, the organization that has a hand in ongoing downtown development, say this is one more important piece of the Catalyst Project and they expect to attract visitors from across the Triad.
The developer says they are looking for vendors who will bring unique flavors, including ethnic foods or chefs looking to open their own restaurants and just need a place to get started.
Crews are expected to break ground on the building this summer.
