DURHAM, N.C. – Durham Police are investigating after a pedestrian died after being struck by a train near Duke University Thursday morning.

The incident occurred on Swift Avenue near West Main Street around 7:15.

Swift Avenue is closed while the investigation is underway.

Details about the individual have not yet been released.
