NORTH CAROLINA -- Western North Carolina is facing impacts from a round of winter weather.

Icy conditions are building in the Mountains and the Foothills.

In Boone, surfaces are coated with ice. From sidewalks, to the main roads, people should give themselves and extra half-hour at least when commuting.

  • Don’t approach any downed power lines
  • Don’t try to remove any broken tree limbs on your own
  • Let them do their work and if you see them out in the street, give them space to work and stay out of their way
