CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The UNC Board of Governors has extended the deadline for the Board of Trustee’s decision of where Silent Sam should reside.

The Board of Governors previously instructed the Board of Trustees to come to a conclusion by November 15.

The Board of Trustees said they need more time for the decision, so the Board of Governors has pushed back the deadline to a later date.

Board of Governors Chair Harry Smith said the new deadline will be before their next meeting on December 14.
