GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA –  The Greensboro Police Club has more than 4,000 pounds of barbecue packaged and ready to serve during the annual fall barbecue.

  • You can eat-in or take-out from the club on Air Harbor Road until 7 p.m.
  • All proceeds from the sales are split between three charities.
  • Meals are $8.

You can eat-in or take-out from the club on Air Harbor Road until 7 p.m. Wednesday night, or pick up a meal at the War Memorial stadium until 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the sales are split between the Special Olympics, youth athletic organizations, police memorials and other officers in need.

Ralph Ball, a retired Greensboro police officer, said, "We’ve had officers whose houses have burned, they've been hurt in the line of duty, and it goes to support them, just gives a little bit back to the community."

Meals are $8, and come with all the classics-- barbecue, a bun, baked beans, and coleslaw.

Ball said, "Not only is it a lot of hard work, but it's a lot of good socializing. A lot of these officers we don't get to see but two or three times a year, and it's nice to get out here and fellowship with them."

This annual barbecue raises the club's operating money for the year.
