SUMMERFILED, N.C. -- Members of the Sheriff's Office of Rockingham County are investigating an accident involving a 10-year-old child injured on Traxler Road.

According to authorities, the boy was riding in a vehicle with his parents when he decided to jump out. Authorities say the boy jumped out of the vehicle because he did not want to go to school.

He has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

There is no word yet on the extent of his injuries or his condition.
