NORTH CAROLINA -- Tropical Storm Michael moved out of the Triad on Thursday evening, not before creating widespread flooding throughout the region.

In Wilkesboro, officials and the fire department attempted to secure the area around a sinkhole, which grew larger as rain and flood water continue to poor in. The main concern was for those driving getting too close to hole, trying to snag a look and falling in.

Winston-Salem also saw a lot of downed trees and road closures. Police had the ramp from Marshall to Business 40 closed off after a tree fell on top of a car.

The biggest impact Michael left on the Triad was more than 100,000 power outages, with the majority in Guilford County.
