GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Happy Wednesday! As if it hasn't been warm enough, more heat is on the way to wrap up the first week of October.

Today will feature plenty of sunshine with highs climbing to the mid 80s. Tonight we drop down to the mid to upper 60s, under a mostly clear sky.

Tomorrow will be down right hot, especially for October standards. Highs will climb to the upper 80s. To put that into perspective, an average high for this time of year is 74.

The high heat looks to continue into Friday but by the weekend we could see some relief. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s on Saturday, with the chance for a few showers.

Sunday will still be unseasonably warm but mainly dry with highs in the low 80s. Unfortunately, no sight of fall as we head into early next week, temperatures hold on strong into the low 80s.
