PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. -- A number of Piedmont Triad first responders have been in the eastern portion of the state helping with post hurricane relief.

  • Greensboro's swift water rescue team has been in Pender and New Hanover counties
  • Kernersville sent their team of eight to Columbus County 
  • Davie County's rescue squad has been in Harnett County since Friday

Greensboro's swift water rescue team has been in Pender and New Hanover counties. Kernersville sent their team of eight to Columbus County, and Davie County's rescue squad has been in Harnett County since Friday. While there, their team has made 12 rescues.

 

 

 "It's important to us as an organization to know that we can take our resources and our training and our personnel and make it a benefit to anybody that needs it anytime,” said Kevin Hendrix with Davie County fire. “This is a very classic example of there was a need and we responded to the need."
 
 
There isn't a timeline for when their team is expected to return home.
