ASHE COUNTY, N.C. -- A bank in Ashe County caught fire Tuesday after a landslide hit the back of the building.

  • Lifestore Bank went up in flames after a landslide
  • It happened on Tuesday
  • Electrical wires broke off during the landslide

Witnesses say Lifestore Bank went up in flames minutes after the landslide.

According to Blue Ridge Energy, one of their poles was pushed by the landslide.

Some of those electrical wires broke off and on top of the mud, but it's unclear at this time if that had anything to do with the fire.

People in town say it's hard to believe it all happened so fast.

Spectrum News has reached out to Lifestore Bank, which reported all their employees were able to make it out safely and they thanked the first responders for putting the fire out.
