RALEIGH, N.C. – The calf of April the giraffe is moving to Raleigh!

  • Tajiri the giraffe is coming to North Carolina.
  • He's the son of April the giraffe, whose long pregnancy took the internet by storm in 2017.
  • Tajiri is expected to be visible to the public in 2019. 

The Carolina Wildlife Conservation Park announced this week that it will soon be home to Tajiri, whose birth took the internet by storm in 2017.

A record 14 million people tuned in to watch as Tajiri was born.

Tajiri is expected to move to the center in October, and will be visible to the public in North Carolina next spring.

 

 

 Tajiri will be joined by female giraffes as he matures to allow the widening of the healthy giraffe gene pool. 

 

 

 Animal Adventure Park in New York, Tajiri's birthplace, says a "Tajiri cam" is in our future.
