An independent investigator found that the use of force by Officer Glenn Wade met with the department's standards.

The shooting happened when the officer was meeting with the chief of police at an impound lot. The dog came from under a truck towards the direction of the two.

"Officer Wade drew his service pistol and fired five times in a downward angle at the dog and ground, causing no risk of death or serious injury to other persons present at or in a close proximity to the incident," says David Graham, president of Investigative Security Services, the agency used to look into the shooting.

The dog was owned by a family working on the lot's fence. The Paschal family does not believe the report accurately reflects the facts of the shooting.
